the muffins of excess

these muffins have it all... on a compltely unrelated note... pink unicorns...
well, if you wake up one day and don't really know what you feel like eating from the things you like, just put it all.. like me; you wouldn't make a mistake, you may fail sometimes... not when it comes to chocolate and nuts though, chocolate and nuts, strawberries and vanilla sugar.. next time I will put more fruits even :D

not once I have mentioned what a soothing effect muffins have on me, not to eat them, just to prepare them; they are like these lively creature in colourful clothing, they are almost telling you the cupboard stories of Narnia... and before I go totally nuts lets see what is inside:

Muffins with strawberries, chocolate & nuts

Ingredients
(makes about 15)

1 1/2 cup all purpose sifted flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup crystal sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup melted butter
1/3 cup milk
1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
30g almonds/30g walnuts/30g hazelnuts
80g chopped white chocolate
15 chocolate squares for the "heart"

The procedure for preparing muffins is pure logic and after a while your hands know what comes in order without even you noticing.
two bowls...
dry ingredients: flour + baking powder + half of the sugar mixed together
wet ingredients: egg + milk + leftover sugar + melted butter mixed in a smooth cream...
then wet ingredients are added to the dry ones to form the dough. In the end the stuffings are added (strawberries, nuts and white chocolate). Muffin tray is lined with smiley papers and the forms are filled up to 2/3 of the volume of the cup. To finish this excess put a piece of dark chocolate and bring your muffin to life...
Muffins are baked 15mins at 175C or until you decide they are done. Then you have to wait until they are cooled off to eat because otherwise because of the xtra amount of things inside they might fall apart when hot.
my cartoon muffin heroes of the day :)

... and while we're at it... fruits are cool in muffins, Haribo fruits in muffins however turn out to be nasty, don't get the Haribo spirit angry by baking it in 175C :D

  1. Hehe Haribo in muffins doesn't sound too nice! I like the look of these though, baking in general seems to soothe me! Chocolates and nuts are my favourite combination, I shall definitely have to try these :) xo

Yeah in London there is loads of things going on at the same time, is hard to keep up sometimes. In Prague is probably the same, but since I didn't speak Czech most of the things passed me on the side lol.
